The Start Of A New Slimming World Journey


As you can probably guess by the title of this post, I have joined Slimming World. In fact, I've been a member for two years (on and off) but I rejoined at the end of last year. This was mainly to keep me on track and more mindful of what I eat over Christmas (as it's easy to get carried away over the festive period, isn't it?!).

It was only when attending our regular group earlier this week, that I had a bit of a wakeup call. I haven't been following the plan at all for months, and there's no point paying money for something if I'm not going to do it. I haven't been eating properly for ages and so my weight is constantly up and down, for example putting on a few pounds one week and losing one pound the next. I often have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, but usually skip lunch and end up snacking on rubbish when I'm hungry later on in the day. We also don't eat until around 8pm once Sophie is in bed, so it's a vicious circle.. and also the reason why I've gained so much weight this past year.

I have decided that's it now. This week I've been filling in a food diary (for the first time ever!) and counting syns properly. I finally feel like I'm back on plan and I have the motivation back to lose weight. Now that the weather is improving, I will get out walking with Sophie too which should help with my weight loss.

I'm not a huge fan of cooking either if I'm honest, but I'm going to start making an effort. I'm thinking of doing a regular weigh in on my blog - either weekly or monthly to keep me on track. As well as sharing my favourite recipes and meal ideas.
