33 & 34 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2

This is my 33 and 34 week pregnancy update with baby number two. The weeks seem to be flying so quickly now and it won't be long until we meet our baby girl!

DUE DATE
31st October 2017

BABY DEVELOPMENT
Baby weighs around 5lbs now. Her immune system is no longer relying on antibodies from the placenta. She is developing more distinct functions and is capable of controlling breathing, digestive functions and body temperature. She can now tell the difference between day and night too.

GENDER
It's a GIRL!

MOOD
I've been feeling so tired lately and a bit run down. Hopefully I get some energy back soon, as there's still so much to do before baby arrives. I'm also really anxious and baby's movements, as I've mentioned in previous updates.

SYMPTOMS
I've been so tired. I'm also being sick quite a lot which doesn't help either. We had another growth scan this week (33 weeks) and baby girl's estimated weight is 4lb 11oz, she was also breech however at my 34 week midwife appointment they said she had turned and was head down. I hadn't felt her much at all that day, so I ended up being monitored again at the local hospital. Once again, everything was fine and I was reassured she was ok.

SLEEP
I've been so tired lately and I've been making the most of naps during the day. Toilet trips during the night (every night!) are a thing now too.

MOVEMENT
I've been feeling some movement, however there is still no pattern. I was reading through my notes after the growth scan and noticed I have an anterior placenta. This explains why some movements are cushioned, although I would have thought someone would have mentioned it to me beforehand!

FOOD CRAVINGS OR AVERSIONS
I still haven't had any to be honest!

HIGHLIGHT OF THIS WEEK
We finally finished baby girl's nursery! You can see the nursery tour here.

LOOKING FORWARD TO
Making a start on packing my hospital bag!
