A couple of days ago, we decided to go for a walk somewhere fairly local to us, as the weather was supposed to be nice that day. I wanted to get out of the house to get some fresh air and it meant Sophie could burn off some of her endless energy too!
It was only about a 10 minute drive from where we live. When we arrived, the weather was absolutely beautiful! To be honest, we’ve been getting pretty fed up of the miserable weather and being inside most of the time, so it felt great to be outdoors – especially when the sun was shining!
Sophie loves being outdoors and exploring new places. She often goes for walks with her Papa (Toby’s Dad) on weekends, which she really enjoys too. I love the photo above! She spotted an aeroplane which she very quickly pointed out to me and her Nana!
The photos above were taken by my Mum, as I’m still trying to get used to my camera and the settings etc. so unfortunately most of the ones I took didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. I don’t really mind though, as it meant I got some practice in anyway. Although, I did take the two photos below on my camera and was quite pleased with them, I really liked the reflection of the clouds on the water.
Do your children like being outdoors?

Don't sweat the photography. It's only practise that makes you better. I still shoot in auto most of the time. I occasionally go into manual if a photo really isn't Coming out the way I like. I should take the plunge and do it more x

Thank you Sarah! I usually shoot in auto too but I wanted to try something a bit different. It's very complicated unless you know what you're doing (which I certainly dont!) haha x

Oh my boys love the outdoors, Reuben goes to a forest school which means they do a lot of outdoor learning, purely because he responds to it so well 🙂 I love your photography, I am terrible with a camera! H 🙂

Oh that sounds amazing! My daughter would love that. Me too haha, most of those photos are my mums! x

I'm a total camera phone photographer (the pictures on my blog are fun but never the best quality!) It's good you are getting to practice, practice makes progress! (Ops sorry have said this to my kids 1000 times recently, not meant to be patronising!)
sophieellaandme says
I agree 🙂 don't worry you don't sound patronising at all.. It's true! 🙂 xx

Looks like a beautiful place for a walk. Sorry your pictures didn't turn out how you hope, getting to grips with a new camera is tricky.

It was lovely! Thank you, it really is! x

This looks beautiful, where abouts do you live? They're gorgeous pics, technically perfect or not. If you ever need any help or have any camera questions, just drop me an email (I used to be a wedding photographer) and I'll try and help xx

I think the photos are lovely! Not every photo needs to be 'professional', it's nice to have natural snaps. Winter walks are always so lovely with the sun shining x

Thank you 🙂 I agree natural snaps are the best x
