16 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2

I'm now 16 weeks into my second pregnancy. The weeks seem to be flying by now and we found out the gender this week! So here's how I've been feeling...

31st October 2017.

Although the baby is still quite small, measuring around 4.57 inches in length and around 3.53 ounces, the little heart is pumping approximately 25 quarts of blood every day. The baby is continually becoming more active and is busy practicing all those movements that its already learnt to perform. The bones inside the baby's body are hardening and the tiny legs and arms are now completely formed. They are making little movements, have the ability to sense light changes in light through the eyelids and the thumbs are now able to grasp too.

It's a GIRL!

I'm still being sick most days and I think it's something that will carry on throughout my pregnancy, just like it did previously. I had an appointment with a consultant at our local hospital at the beginning of the week, as I'm classed as high risk due to my raised BMI. The appointment itself was pretty uneventful. The midwife first did the usual checks, such as checking my urine and blood pressure and we also go to listen to baby's heartbeat on the doppler.

Like I said I've been pretty ill most days and I've also been getting headaches, which isn't nice at all. I've been drinking more water to try and prevent them, as the consultant said it could be a sign I'm getting a little dehydrated due to the sickness.

I'm still sleeping really well at the moment, so I can't really complain!

I still haven't felt any movement but I'm sure it won't be long now, as baby is getting bigger and bigger by the day.

I seem to get full really quickly and just want to eat rubbish like McDonalds and takeaways. I'm trying not to give in every time though, as I really don't want to gain loads of weight in this pregnancy.

It has to be finding out we were expecting our second baby girl! The scan was amazing and I couldn't believe how much we could actually see. She was waving and sucking her thumb, which was the cutest thing!

I can't wait to start baby shopping and to get more things done in the nursery.
