This is my 23 week pregnancy update with baby number two! I talk all about tiredness, anxiety and baby’s movements.
DUE DATE
31st October 2017
BABY DEVELOPMENT
The baby now weighs about one pound and is around 11.38 inches in length. In the next five weeks the baby will experience a major growth spurt. The hair on the baby’s body is darkening and even the skin is gaining some pigment. The bones and organs are still visible through the skin, however the will soon become less visible due to the continued formation of fat.

GENDER

MOOD
I’ve been feeling okay this week and it’s been nice having a break from home.

SYMPTOMS
I’ve mainly been feeling really tired this week and anxious, which I have explained in a bit more detail below. I’ve had a few sharp pains on my left side too, which eases when I lie down. I’m not sure if it’s baby lying in an awkward position but I will keep an eye on it and mention it to the midwife when I next see her if it carries on. Although that won’t be for another 5 weeks. My skin is still awful too and is covered in spots and dry patches.

SLEEP
I’ve had to take a nap during the day a few times because I felt exhausted and could barely keep my eyes open. I haven’t been sleeping well at all and was waking in the night due to needing the toilet, my back hurting or just being generally uncomfortable. I’d struggle falling back to sleep so would be awake for hours too, which is so frustrating! I had another vivid dream again this week, which I think is made worse by my anxiety.

MOVEMENT
I have felt baby move most days this week, although sometimes if I’m busy I just don’t notice if she’s moving unless I’m lying down. I know it’s still early for her to be in a regular pattern, so I’m trying not to worry and get anxious about it but I do feel reassured that she’s ok when I can feel her moving about.

FOOD CRAVINGS OR AVERSIONS
Eating cereal still makes me feel nauseous but I’m still loving new potatoes!

Its crazy how fast it all goes! Even crazier that my friends baby girl was actually born at this gestation and is now three!

Great post! I've been having pains the last few weeks too! I'm 25 weeks now. I think it's to do with your body stretching or something – that's what the midwife said anyway! Also my skin is a nightmare at the moment too, no one informed it that it's meant to be glowing haha
