I have finally finished putting together Sophie’s big sister basket, which we will give to her when her baby sister arrives later this year. I knew I wanted to get her a few little gifts from the new baby, as it will hopefully help with the transition to becoming a big sister.
I have included a variety of different items, including books, soft toys and the t-shirt which she wore in our pregnancy announcement. Here’s a few more photos so you can see what else is inside the basket…
If you’re a regular reader, you will know we love Jellycat toys! I really wanted to get the girls matching ones and I fell in love with these grey blossom bunnies. I bought different sizes so we could tell them apart, plus I thought the smaller one would be ideal for a younger baby to grasp.
Also, depending on how long we have to stay in hospital, if Sophie comes to visit us she can bring the small bunny to give to her baby sister when they meet for the first time.
I love the personalised card which I ordered from Not On The High Street. I’m going to hang the big sister sign in Sophie’s bedroom somewhere and I’m hoping to have the baby wearing the ‘little sister’ sleepsuit when they first meet – I think Sophie would love that!
Here’s a closer look at the contents…

Very thoughtful basket. We didn't make a basket but we also didn't have anything Matthew could give Chloe when she was born. Should have got more involved but they are the best of friends now.
