10 Classic Children's Books

Over the years, we have slowly accumulated quite the book collection for our two girls. When we were expecting our youngest daughter, we purchased some classic books to go in her nursery, some of which are her favourites now. So I wanted to share ten of our favourite classic children's books with you.

I'm sure you will remember some of these books from when you were little too!

1. Dear Zoo
This book has a simple story and is easy to follow. You will discover lots of animals along the way, as you lift the flaps to find the perfect pet from the zoo..

2. Elmer
This is such a bright, colourful book with a touching story of an elephant who doesn't want to be different anymore and just wants to fit in. The book has a lovely message; that it is okay to be different.

3. Guess How Much I Love You
The perfect bedtime read and a beautiful book, about how Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare measure how much they love each other.

4. Paddington
This story follows the adventure of Paddington Bear, who meets a family at a train station with a note to look after him.

5. The Tale Of Peter Rabbit
This is the first of many little books by Beatrix Potter, following the adventures of a mischievous rabbit.

6. The Tiger Who Came To Tea
My eldest daughter loves this book, as she shares a name with the main character. It follows the story of Sophie, who ends up having tea with a hungry tiger!

7. The Very Hungry Caterpillar
A fun and colourful book, following the story of a Caterpillar who eats his way through the week.

8. We're Going On A Bear Hunt
Such a fun and exciting book about a family's adventure to the other side of  the forest. It has a lot of repetition in it too, which children love!

9. Winnie The Pooh
A colourful book about Pooh Bear and his friends, in the Hundred Acre Wood.

10. Where's Spot?
Another lift-the-flap book, where you have to search for where Spot the dog is hiding!

What are your favourite children's books?
