Christmas Book Advent Calendar

This is the first year I have decided to do a book advent calendar for Sophie. I left it a bit too late last year, so over the past few months I have been buying Christmas themed books which I thought would be perfect to include in the advent this year. I’m really looking forward to starting this new tradition and we now have lots of new books to read in the run up to Christmas!

If you hadn’t already guessed, the idea of a book advent calendar is to wrap up a book for your child to open every day in the run up to Christmas, which I thought was such a lovely idea and a tradition we can now do every year. In all honesty, my partner thinks this many books is quite excessive, but I already had some from last year and we can use them again for years to come!

I am sharing this a little bit late as it’s 1st December tomorrow, but I wanted to show you the books I have included anyway, in case you’re thinking of putting one together yourself!

So here are the books I have included and I have linked them at the end of this post too…
1. Pooh’s Snowy Day
2. Bear Stays Up For Christmas
3. Dear Santa
4. Peter Rabbit – Happy Christmas!
5. Snow Bunny’s Christmas Wish
6. Big Bear, Little Bear
7. The Christmas Bear
8. Penguin’s Christmas Wish
9. The Gruffalo’s Child
10. How Many Sleeps Till Christmas?
11. Poles Apart
12. The Snowman And The Snowdog
13. Snowflakes
14. The Christmas Fairy
15. Father Christmas On The Naughty Step
16. The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas
17. Father Christmas
18. Father Christmas Needs A Wee
19. The Christmas Tale Of Peter Rabbit
20. One Christmas Night
21. Dear Father Christmas
22. Little Penguin Lost
23. Santa’s Reindeer
24. The Night Before Christmas

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! Are you doing a book advent calendar this year?

what a good idea! I hadn't thought of that but it makes it much more meaningful than a small piece of chocolate. Love the wrapping paper too!

I love this idea, I may do it next year with some of the books we bought this year and then buy the rest.

I've done a book advent for the first time this year and Parker loves opening the books each night before bed! I am definitely going to keep up the new tradition…x

I haven't done a book advent before, but it looks really good. Must be great fun opening one each day.
