5 Top Tips For Instagram

I think Instagram has to be my favourite social media platform and you will find I’m constantly scrolling through it! If you’re also an Instagram lover but are looking for a few tips on how to improve your feed and possibly increase your followers, then carry on reading this post…

I want to start off by saying that I’m certainly not an expert on this topic and I’m not claiming to be either! I don’t have a huge following myself, but I thought I would share a few tips which I have learnt along the way, which may just help you and I hope you find them useful. If you don’t follow us already, you can find us here!

1. USE CLEAR IMAGES
Using clear and good quality images is one of the main tips I can give you. I’d rather look at a bright and clear photo, rather than a dark or blurry one! It’s best using natural daylight when taking photos but I do often brighten my images using an app called Afterlight which makes a big difference.

2. USE APPROPRIATE HASHTAGS
I think hashtags can be really helpful, but only if you use them correctly. Firstly, use relevant hashtags to what you’re posting about, as that way people who are searching for the same topic can easily find your photo. Secondly – don’t hashtag every single word as there really isn’t much point! Another tip – try to limit the amount of hashtags you use to about ten, as otherwise it can look a bit too much.

3. POST REGULARLY
I think posting regularly helps to maintain or increase your followers. Obviously don’t post too often, but once or twice a day is good. You don’t have to post all of your images straight away either – spread them out over a few days. A pretty obvious one, but the best time to post is during the day as if you post late at night, most people will be in bed, therefore won’t see your photo.

4. SOCIALISE!
Follow people who have similar interests to you, like their photos and comment too! It is a social media site after all and everyone who I have come across on Instagram is absolutely lovely!

5. POST ABOUT YOUR INTERESTS
It is your Instagram profile, so post about your interests & things you like/enjoy and those who are into the same things will find you.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and maybe even found it useful! What would your best tip be?

I'm addicted to instagram although don't seem to have loads of followers. Some great tips – I do everything you say, but I think I would have more followers if my feed was more niche rather than a bit of everything. But it's a way to document our lives and so i'm less concerned about followers really xx
