It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

I absolutely love this time of year. Ok, so the weather is pretty miserable. And it’s rather cold. But there’s just something so magical about Christmas time. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I felt this happy and content (I will write a separate post about this soon), but I’m just so excited for Christmas this year and I thought I would share the reasons why I love Christmas!

Spending time with family
There’s nothing better than being with family over Christmas and I can’t wait to spend time all together. Especially as Christmas is really the only time Toby gets off work, so it will be lovely to spend time as a family of three, as well as with the rest of the family.

Having children
I think when you have children, Christmas instantly becomes even more special and magical. Like taking them to see Santa, starting new Christmas traditions (for example, putting together a Christmas Eve Basket) or leaving a mince pie and carrot for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. Also not forgetting seeing their face as they open their presents. Priceless!

Decorations
I couldn’t wait to put the Christmas tree and the decorations up this year. Our house feels so cosy with the Christmas tree up and the lights twinkling!

Christmas shopping
Who doesn’t love shopping anyway?! Now I have a valid excuse to go and buy presents for the family which I know they will love!

Presents
That leads me onto giving and receiving presents! I’m genuinely not bothered about opening anything myself on Christmas morning, as long as my family are happy, that is all that matters. I’m especially excited to see Sophie opening her presents this year!

Food
Just thinking about it is making my mouth water haha! In the run up to Christmas, it’s all about the big tub of Celebrations, biscuits, yule log and any other chocolate I can get my hands on! My favourite food is definitely Christmas dinner (with all the trimmings!). Three words: pigs in blankets!

Music
There’s nothing better to get you feeling festive than listening to Christmas songs. I love the classics as well as some more recent ones.

What do you love about this time of year?

I love family traditions! That's my absolutely favourite thing about Christmas. It's so magical to just spend time with them doing the same exciting little things every year. It's definitely even more wonderful now we have Evie. xx

All wonderful reasons to love the season! I'm looking forward to the break, and spending time with family. Christmas is definitely more magical with children, we decorated the tree this week and it was so much fun 🙂 #love2blog

What a lovely post. I totally agree, Christmas becomes even more fun when you have children of your own. I adore Christmas any way but getting to spend it with my children makes it so more worthwhile x

I love Christmas!!! It's my daughters first this year and I can't wait to see the excitement in her face. She'll only be 9 months but I think she's a good age to have her first Christmas.

What a lovely post and I completely agree with you. I adore Christmas and having kids old enough to understand it (well Jack does, Phoebe has no clue still) makes it even more magical.
