We were recently contacted and asked if we wanted to review the new Fisher-Price Shimmer & Shine Playset. I obviously said yes, as I knew Sophie would absolutely love it!
I’ve seen Sophie watching Shimmer & Shine on YouTube Kids, although the episodes are also aired on Nickelodeon. I got it out of the box and set it up ready for when she got home from school, as I knew she would be too impatient otherwise! Although it required very little assembly. As soon as she saw the playset she was so excited and recognised the characters straight away!
Inside the box includes; the palace itself, two genies, a bath, two beds and a table. You can also purchase Teenie Genies separately which work with the playset, and there are over 130 to choose from! The pink gem on the top also opens up, which is ideal for storing some of the accessories when not in use. I like that batteries aren’t required and I don’t constantly have to change them!
There’s something so lovely about watching your child play, isn’t there? I love just watching her using her imagination to make up her own little stories – which at four years old is one of her favourite things to do. She especially loved the floating feature; where if you pull down the pillow, the genies will ‘magically float’. They can also spin around on the ‘magic carpet’ at the top of the palace. She has certainly had hours of fun playing with it!
I would definitely recommend this playset and I think it would make a perfect gift, whether it’s for a birthday or even Christmas which is just around the corner! It is suitable for children aged 3+ and the RRP is £32.99.

My little girl is shimmer & shine crazy and watches it nonstop on Nick Jr. I think I will have to add this to her Christmas list as it looks like a great toy. X
