This is my 24 pregnancy update with baby number two. We’ve hit a milestone this week, as baby girl is now viable!

BABY DEVELOPMENT
Baby girl now weighs around 1lb 3oz and is around 11.81 inches in length. Her hair is beginning to change to the colour it will be at birth. Her weight will double in the next four weeks and her lungs are also developing and preparing for her first breaths.

MOOD
I feel quite well in myself, I think our holiday did me the world of good and it was nice to spend time as a family (our last as a family of three!) and relax. My bump is growing more each week – which reminds me I need more maternity clothes.

SYMPTOMS
I’ve been feeling anxious over movements, which I’ve explained below. I’ve felt nauseous a few times, but thankfully I’ve only been sick once (which is the first time in a couple of weeks!). It was triggered by taking a Gaviscon tablet for heartburn (which is another symptom this week!).

SLEEP
I’ve been sleeping really well (despite waking up most nights to go to the toilet – I think I will just have to get used to it though!)

MOVEMENT
The first few days she was really active but then I noticed one night she was quiet and I tried everything to get her to move. I phoned our local Maternity Unit and they told me to come down to triage to be monitored. We were in Scotland at the time, we so drove home a day early – thankfully baby girl was fine. Although the midwife said I hadn’t drank enough that day, so I’m making sure I drink plenty from now on and I’m keeping a close eye on her movements. If anything changes, I’ve been told to phone them again.

This week I reached viability! I also picked up loads of baby clothes in the Next sale and ordered some bits for the nursery – which is so exciting!

LOOKING FORWARD TO
Now we’re back from Scotland, I really want to finish the nursery soon. Toby has promised he will make the shelves soon and I’m so excited to see it all come together.

such peace of mind reaching a milestone like that isn't it?! My mum's birthday is Halloween – I wonder if baby girl will make her due date? Be a fun for birthday parties!! x
Oh it really is! I'm taking each day and week as it comes! Ooh that's exciting – I think baby girl will be late just like her big sister was! x
