Our Family Holiday To Scotland 2017

At the beginning of this month, we headed off on our family holiday to Scotland. We all absolutely love it there, so much so – this is the third year in a row we have been!

We had a lovely holiday. It was nice to be able to relax, not think about work and spend time as a family. I think Sophie appreciated the break from nursery too. It’s strange to think that it was our last holiday as a family of three, before our second baby girl arrives in a few months’ time.

I would love to take Sophie abroad one day (and her sister, of course), but at the moment it’s not something we’re in a rush to do and I feel we have plenty of time to do that in the future. Although we will soon have school holidays to think about!

We visited one of my favourite places, which I have mentioned previously on the blog. It’s a little seaside town called Kirkcudbright and it’s not far from where we stay, maybe around a 20 minute drive. The first year we went, we found a cute little shop and each year we’ve bought Sophie a new Jellycat toy from there. It’s like a tradition now so I couldn’t wait to return!

After around 20 minutes wandering around the toy section, Sophie finally decided on a new friend. A cute little dog she named “Fluffy”. I absolutely love the park where we took these photos too, which is opposite the shop, as it’s always so bright and colourful. You can see photos from last year too.

One of Sophie’s favourite things to do is pick flowers for me. It’s so sweet and I hope it’s something she does for a long time!

I just love how colourful these beach huts are! They were there last year too, so I’m glad they’re still there so I could take plenty of photos!
I couldn’t believe how lucky we were with the weather. There were a few overcast or rainy days but on the most part, we spent our time enjoying the sun!

For some reason I only tend to read while I’m on holiday, but after finishing one book, I made a start on a new one by Nicholas Sparks. He’s one of my favourite authors – I’m a sucker for a romance!

Sophie loved watching Daddy on his boat and even went on it a few times – which she loved! I gave it a miss this year – with being pregnant I decided it probably wasn’t a great idea. However I got to relax on the beach in peace and read my book.

We also visited Cream O’ Galloway for ice cream, although I forgot to take my camera when I went! I wish I had taken more photos of our holiday, but I love the ones we do have. We’ve already booked again for next year – so I will remember to take lots of photos then! We will also have an eight month old baby by then too – which is pretty crazy to think about!

I’d love to know if you have you been on holiday this year?
