The Christmas Tag 2016

I was tagged by the lovely Emily over at Emily and Indiana to answer some Christmas related questions for ‘The Christmas Tag’, so here we go…

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
When I was younger, I used to love watching the Home Alone films. I recently bought the box-set on DVD, so I can’t wait to watch them again next week with Sophie! My favourite Christmas film has to be The Holiday though.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I genuinely can’t remember!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Since we had Sophie, we have alternated each year between my parent’s house and Toby’s parent’s. This year we will spend Christmas Day at my parents house and then we will spend Boxing Day with Toby’s family. I love being around all of the family at Christmas and it’s spread over two days, which is even better!

What is your favourite Christmas song?

I genuinely love them all, but my favourite is probably ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ by Shakin’ Stevens!
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No, but for the past three years I have put together a Christmas Eve Basket with new pyjamas, a book, DVD, snacks etc. which I think is a lovely tradition.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph! (I had to sing Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer a few times to remember them all haha!)

Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I can’t wait to give Sophie her Christmas Eve Basket, to watch The Snowman and The Snowdog on repeat and build a gingerbread house again this year!

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
It’s fake, I really can’t decide whether I want a real or fake one next year.
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
It has to be Christmas dinner & Yule log!

Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Definitely giving, especially now we have Sophie. Seeing her face opening her presents on Christmas Day is priceless!

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
It has to be the Tiffany necklace that Toby bought me about four years ago, it’s beautiful and I wear it every day (when the chain isn’t broken!).

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Two words – New York! It looks amazing at this time of year.

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I wouldn’t say I’m a pro, but I try and make them look neat at least! Although it does get very frustrating when it doesn’t go to plan. It seems to take forever, and don’t get me started on the awkward shaped presents!
Most memorable Christmas moment?
I always remember sneaking downstairs with my sister every year on Christmas morning to see if Santa had been!

What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I can’t really remember exactly! I do remember one year there were muddy footprints left on the landing and it made it so magical! I genuinely believed he was real.

What makes the holidays special for you?
Spending time with family! Toby gets time off work around Christmas, so he is able to relax and spend quality time with us. And having a child makes it special too. Sophie is three and a half this year, so understands a lot more than previous years.

So there you have The Christmas Tag! I would like to tag the following bloggers to take part:
Five Little Doves, Mummy and Moose, Chilling With Lucas, Little Pickle’s Mom, Twinderelmo & The Smallest Of Things.
