I’ve relaxed a bit now that we’ve had our scan and we know baby is well. This is the last week of being in the first trimester and I can’t wait for it to be over to be honest! Here’s how I’ve been feeling this week…
DUE DATE
31st October 2017
BABY DEVELOPMENT
The baby is around the size of a kiwi, it’s length is around 2.91 inches and weighs around 0.81 ounces. It now has the ability to open and close its fists an to make sucking movements. All the organs of baby’s digestive system are developing into their final shapes, including the stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines.
GENDER
We still don’t know the gender yet, but this week I’ve booked a private gender scan for when I’m 16 weeks pregnant. I can’t wait to know for sure, although that hasn’t stopped me baby shopping haha!
MOOD
I’ve been feeling well, other than the sickness. I’m still suffering a little with anxiety but I don’t think it will completely go away.
SYMPTOMS
The sickness has been pretty bad this week and I’ve been sick up to three times a day. I’ve just been drinking plenty of water and hope the sickness soon passes.
SLEEP
I’ve been sleeping really well recently and very rarely wake up – which I know will be a completely different story in the coming months!
MOVEMENT
I haven’t felt any movement yet – but I know it’s still early to feel movement and there’s plenty of time for that!
FOOD CRAVINGS OR AVERSIONS
I’m not sure if I’m having full on cravings, but if I really fancy something then I will have it. I’m not sure if I’m having any aversions, other than Philadelphia (just the thought of it makes me feel sick!)
HIGHLIGHT OF THIS WEEK
We received a letter with the screening results, which have deemed us low risk for Down’s, Edwards & Patau Syndrome.
LOOKING FORWARD TO
I’m so excited for our gender scan in a few weeks time. I can’t wait to know who exactly is in there! I have written a separate post on why we have decided to find out the gender and my gender preference – you can find that here!
