Easing Back Pain In Pregnancy With Deep Freeze

I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant with our second baby and we are now on the final countdown for our baby girl’s arrival! This pregnancy has been a tough one so far and to add to that, I have been experiencing back pain on and off for a number of weeks now. I was recently given the opportunity to try the Deep Freeze gel and patches which help relieve muscular aches and pains – so it really couldn’t have come at a better time for me!

According to research carried out by Deep Freeze, ‘as many as 98% women will suffer from muscular back pain at some stage during their pregnancy’ which is understandable considering our body is under so much strain in pregnancy. Not only are you carrying additional weight but everything is also moving around to accommodate your baby as they grow.

Both the patches and gel are drug-free and completely safe to use in pregnancy, which is perfect considering there isn’t much you can take for aches and pains when you’re pregnant apart from paracetamol. They use cold therapy, which ‘works rapidly and like ice’ to target pain. I really wish I had known about these products during my previous pregnancy four years ago, as I remember struggling with back pain then too and I ended up hiring a TENS machine to try and help relieve it.

I found the Deep Freeze patches fast-acting and really easy to apply. They are completely mess-free too, which is an added bonus! Once the patch is applied directly to the affected area, you’re not restricted and can carry on with your day. I found the cooling action in both products helped to relieve my back pain pretty much instantly and for up to 3 hours at a time. I personally preferred the patches, however the gel is a great alternative to the patches and can be applied 3-4 times daily.
I will definitely continue to use the patches during the rest of my pregnancy, as I like the convenience of them. They are individually wrapped, so they are ideal to pop in your handbag and take with you when you’re on the go and needing instant relief. They are also suitable for breastfeeding mums too, so at least I know they are safe to use, should I decide to breastfeed.

If you’re looking for an alternative way to to relieve aches and pains, especially if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, then I would definitely recommend giving these a go!

I really could have done with these when I was pregnant, I had awful back pain. I won't be having anymore babies but my back does still flare up so I know what to try!

I swear by these, and the heat packs too. Not only did I develop back pain in pregnancy but I then broke my back, and then my coccyx when pregnant with Harry, and then developed three bulging discs since then. I am in agony pretty much every day and without these I swear I wouldn't be able to function. I hope your back eases up post birth. xx
