This is my 29 and 30 week pregnancy update with baby number two. At 30 weeks, we got to see baby girl again, as we had our first growth scan.

MOOD
I’ve been feeling ok over the past couple of weeks, although I always wake up at least once in the night due to needing the toilet or waking up with heartburn. It already takes me a while to fall asleep, as I’m just so uncomfortable and my back/hips have been quite painful.

SYMPTOMS
We had our first growth scan at 30 weeks + 2 days. I was under the impression it was just a one off scan, however we were told to come back every 3 weeks unless they needed to see us before then. Baby girl was lying transverse at the scan but she was measuring perfectly and her estimated weight was 3lb 12oz.

SLEEP
As I said previously, it takes me a while to fall asleep and then I wake up at least once during the night. The disrupted sleep is definitely catching up on me!

MOVEMENT
I still don’t really feel a particular pattern of movement. At 30 weeks I went in to hospital to be monitored as the baby had gone really quiet. They did the usual checks, urine, blood pressure and I was strapped up to the monitor and the heartbeat trace was fine. A doctor also came round with a portable ultrasound machine, to check the fluid levels around the baby too. Everything was fine thankfully and we were allowed to go home.

FOOD CRAVINGS OR AVERSIONS
I don’t really get cravings anymore and it doesn’t help the sickness has started again this week.

The new cotbed arrived this week, which Toby built and it really looks like a nursery now!
